Practical Classes - Batik (12+)

Age Range : 12 — 17 years
Class Size: 10
Duration: 1.5 hrs

Batik is a method of dyeing and patterning cloth using wax as a resist. Students will experiment with painting hot wax onto cotton material using a variety of tools. They will then paint on cold water Procion dyes, dry their material and finally iron off the wax to reveal the finished artwork.

Note: Classes run by colleges, guilds and societies will take place in one marquee marked on the exterior by the name of the college, guild or society. The remainder of classes will be run in a parallel marquee with the class names clearly visible on the exterior. Please ensure you go to the right marquee.
