Best of the Best is an exhibition presenting a cross-section of the entire show. Each demonstrating artist is invited to submit what they consider to be the best single example of their work. During the event, the demonstrators are asked to vote for the piece they think is the 'best of the best'.
In 2009, Roanna Wells, demonstrating in the Textiles section, won the 'Best of the Best' award. Her winning piece was a hand stitched triptych entitled 'Solid Air’. Second place went to Joff Hopper (Metalwork and Jewellery) with a hand-forged iron gate entitled 'The Wave Gate’. Third place went to Ashraf Hanna (Ceramics) for a ceramic piece fired using the Raku technique entitled 'Rhythm Vessel’.
